Dr.  Nagendra P. Singh

An Aging facilitator With his passion to be

Through a mirror to see Does  he know that

The mirror does see, The dust on his body.

Look, at the picture, To see thyself

Clean it yourself If I wish to See my  body

Tidy and clear Rise, fearless my dear,

Converse with life. Peep into your truth,

Let your heart talk  Like sharp edges of knife.

Touch with your fingers, It will reveal the abyss.

Arrogance dwells in your dust, You won’t be able to see but miss.

The wish for rain, seemingly in vain,

Clean it yourself. Why immersed in vanity,

Heed the knocks of fate Locked in your shelves.

Why do I ask questions.? On friends’ prescriptions

Am I not better if not  equal, I think I am the best

Better than the rest But now today

Confidence has lost its zest My knees tremble, my tongue fumbles

My  strength has declined The fire that once drove me,

Seems to have reclined

I no longer chase goals With relentless pace

Instead, I pause, and gaze Upon life’s canvas and space

Reflecting on moments And memories of the past

A picture of what’s been, forever to last

(The poem was written by the author in Hindi and English )
